We were having a conversation about Christmas. No fighting or bickering, just talking. I asked what was on his Christmas list and if he had any suggestions for the stocking stuffers. He then noticed after 11 years I didn't have a stocking. He asked why. I said it's because I gifted everyone theirs and filled them every year and it felt greedy to do one for myself. He then asked if he had ever gotten me a gift. I said no, not for Christmas, and not for my birthdays. He said “ huh, I guess you love me more than I love you” and walked away. I realized in that moment that what he said was 100% truth. And it ripped my heart out
